OMD
The Doctor of Oriental Medicine (OMD) from Vietnamese texts, once the seat (in Saigon) of acupuncture intellectuals, both French and Oriental, taken from the rare Traité de médecine chinoise par le Dr Albert Chamfrault's six Tome series, all forms of tradtional pathogenesis in relation to the 72 meridians are detailed. This is material that is never taught in today's acupuncture schools. In addition, our modules on Dietetics and Oriental Herbalism synthesizes a unique and simplified application of herbal practice, fully adaptable to all locales, nutriemnts, cuisines, and botanicals both East and West. In tradition with our monastic beliefs, healing most forms of illness does not require exotic plants, elixirs, and victuals.
IMD
Equally, our Doctor of Indigenous Medicine (IMD) is both a course of study as defined by the WHO as "the sum total of the knowledge, skills, and practices based on the theories, beliefs, and experiences indigenous to different cultures, whether explicable or not, used in the maintenance of health as well as in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illness".["Traditional Medicine: Definitions". World Health Organization. 2008-12-01] for missionaries as well as residents of third world countries. After many years of culling the best materials and practice in missionary camps, the PanAm School has found a synthesis and unity of the various traditions of medical practices both east and west.
HMD
Homeopathy is another form of indigenous and traditional medicine. The World Health Organization has cited homeopathy as one of the systems of traditional medicine that should be integrated worldwide with conventional medicine in order to provide adequate global health care by the year 2000. According to WHO, homeopathic medicine is the second most widely used system of medicine in the world and is fastest growing with an estimated 500 million people receiving homeopathic treatment. It is a low-cost, nontoxic system of medicine used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. It is particularly effective in treating chronic illnesses that fail to respond to conventional treatment, and is also a superb method of self-care for minor conditions such as the common cold and flu. Throughout its 180-year history, homeopathy has proven effective in treating diseases for which conventional medicine has little to offer.
These humanitarian courses are designed for already established practitioners wishing to add knowledge, skills and culture to their existing porfolio. In keeping with history, as all religions can be traced back to precepts of astronomy/astrology, medicine equally can be traced back to religion. Traditional and indigenous medical practices are declared human rights by the United Nations, and every practitioner so inclined should safeguared those rights and be equipped with supporting credentials so as to inform secular authorities and remain in the sphere sovereignty of protections. To that effect, graduates of the OMD or IMD programs can opt for ecclesiastical license and title of nobility by special application to SMOKH's College of Priests, and be so ordained into the domain of Health Sovereignty. Further, we also issue our clergy an International [Ecclesiastical] Medical Permit is based on Geneva Treaty Accords, for those so moved for humanitarian work.
